Water Leak: 4-4-16

On April 4th, 2016, at around 4:45. Claudia Smythe reported a water leak at the tank.

It was determined that the 4″ main water line at the elbow was the problem, about 4ft under ground. We were unable to determine if this leak was due to a previous generations installation error, or deterioration.

Several neighbors assisted in the repair, donating their time & backs, and we them appreciate greatly! Special thanks to Mr. Carter, the Huckaby’s and Mr. Avery.

Here is what was completed:

• The 4″ mainline was repaired with a new 90 elbow to 3″.
• The 3″ vertical pipe and horizontal pipe up to the value was replaced. This also replaced a previously patched leak and removed unneeded plumbing.
• A new emergency value was installed.

The best materials were used in this repair to ensure this does not happen again anytime soon. We are thankful for those with the experience and the expertise to help us complete this repair properly.

Water was restored at about 9:30 PM.
